About the Item

A superb quality English Victorian Sheraton Revival rosewood, parquetry inlaid and brass mounted bijouterie table dating to circa 1880. The circular hinged top with rosewood and satinwood crossbanding with box and ebonies stringing within a low brass gallery pierced with hearts. The rosewood veneered frieze with alternating bands of satinwood and rosewood within tulipwood crossbanding and box stringing, the slender square tapering legs similarly inlaid to all sides and with reeded brass capitals and terminating with brass caps and castors. The interior fitted with original VR lock and with original burgundy velvet lined interior. Comes with a working key. This fine quality bijouterie table is in good condition throughout and being inlaid all the way around can be used as a centre table, there is some fading to some of the leg inlay mainly to the rear, and very slightly unevenness to the veneers none of which detracts from the overall look, the interior is worn & has spill marks but could easily be relined in a colour & material of choice.
