About the Item

An 18th century painted wardrobe from Spain, displaying a particular Andalusian folk art style in a charming color palette that could be mistaken for Scandinavian. The large, rectilinear volume of the wardrobe is crowned with an energetic pediment of cresting waves and stylized foliate design painted in the center. Two paneled doors feature a weathered ivory paint and distinct gold and teal border around the paneling, opening on forged iron hinges. No key is present for the lock. The unpainted interior contains four shelves (17 ⅜” D) that span the full width and depth, with one small drawer mounted underneath the second shelf. Paw feet lift the case from the floor. Gently cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to preserve all the unique character, this endearing piece of storage furniture is ready for its next home. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions.
