About the Item

Italian Mid-Century bar cart produced by Cesare Lacca, working in a style influenced by Ico Parisi's approach to sculptural, decorative modernism. The brass frame forms a dynamic X-cross leg structure topped by a sweeping arched push handle. Dark lacquered wood wraps the handle grip and accents the leg joints, creating a two-tone contrast against the warm brass. Two glass shelves sit within brass-edged frames, with the lower shelf larger than the upper. An integrated three-bottle holder is built into the frame between the shelves, and four brass caster wheels provide mobility. Cesare Lacca was an Italian craftsman active in the postwar decades, producing refined brass and wood furniture and accessories aligned with the broader Italian Mid-Century aesthetic — an era defined by expressive use of materials, sculptural form, and meticulous craftsmanship. The Ico Parisi stylistic influence is evident in the cart's angular geometry and the interplay of metal and lacquered wood. The cart has been lightly refinished and shows remaining heavy wear, including patina, scratches, and dents consistent with age and use.
