About the Item

George II style walnut fold-over card table, a Georgian Revival piece dating from the early 20th century, circa 1920–1930. The table features a serpentine-shaped top made of figured or burr walnut veneers. It has a fold-over top that rotates to reveal a playing surface lined with blue leatheret. When closed, it serves as an elegant side or console table. The rotating mechanism typically uncovers a hidden storage recess or well inside the frame for keeping cards, chips, or other gaming accessories. It is supported by four elegant cabriole legs. The front legs feature carved shell motifs at the "knees" and terminate in ball and claw feet, characteristic of George II furniture design. H: 76cm W: 68cm D: 45cm Extended: 90cm
