Fine Large Italian Baroque Revival Giltwood Marble Centre Table A large and impressive Italian Baroque Revival centre table, dating to the mid-20th century, featuring a circular honey onyx top above a richly carved giltwood quadraform base. The sculptural support is decorated with bold scrolling acanthus foliage surrounding a finely carved fruit-filled urn, raised on four shaped feet and resting upon a circular veneered plinth with gilt moulded borders. The warm tones of the honey onyx, displaying natural veining in shades of amber, cream and brown, complement the richly gilded carved decoration. Substantial in both scale and quality, this elegant centre table is ideally suited for use in a grand entrance hall, reception room or library. Good overall condition. Some age-related wear including veneer losses, rubbing to gilding and wear to surface. Very heavy and substantial. Presents well Height: 88 cm (34.65 in.) Diameter: 133 cm (52.36 in.)
