About the Item

An Extremely Good Quality Regency Period Rosewood Circular Centre Table, Or Hall Table, Of Rare Diminutive Proportions, With Elegant Brass Inlaid Decoration Throughout, The Superbly Figured Circular Tilting Top Raised On Stepped Square Central Support And Attractive Quad Form Concave Base With Four Sabre Legs And Original Brass Paw Castors.  This centre table is of relatively typical design for the height of the Regency period, however it does have a few distinguishing features which lift it above and beyond most that you will find available on the market for sale. The first is its size. It is that bit smaller than the average, perfect for an entrance hall, or possibly even behind a settee. In combination with the lovely thin top and superbly figured rosewood veneers it stands very elegantly and will look fabulous wherever one chooses to locate it. Another excellent feature is the high quality brass inlaid decoration throughout, something that really raises the elegance and sophistication of the table.  Overall the quality of the table is excellent, highlighted further by the choice of decorative veneers and extra attention to detail in various areas. It also remains in very good condition, with very little historical damage to speak of other than a few old scuffs and scrapes which blend into the surface and a very historic small amount of warp to the top which can be seen on the photos and certainly isn't a concern in any way whatsoever now. It has also received a natural wax polish in our workshops by our specialist antique furniture restorers before being offered for sale meaning that it is ready for immediate placement by the purchaser. From a practical perspective it would be easy to transport and place into any room, in any house as the top can be separated from the base. Circa 1825. Height 27.5in. Width 46in. Depth 46in. Georgian Mahogany Circular Wine Table, Tilt-Top, England, Circa 1780

Georgian Mahogany Circular Wine Table, Tilt-Top, England, Circa 1780

Located in Bedfordshire, GB

A Very Good Quality Late 18th Century, George III Period, Mahogany Wine Table, Having Well Figured Circular Tilting Top Retaining Untouched Colour And Patina With Strung Decoration, Over Elegant Baluster Turned Column With Umbrella Tripod Legs. A simple, elegant and beautiful little table, which is also incredibly functional, this is of relatively typical design for the late 18th century georgian period. Boasting rich, dense, mahogany timbers, alongside a good untouched colour and patina, in combination with the subtle strung inlaid decoration to the edge of the top it has a real touch of class and exudes elegance. The perfect size for an absolute host of spaces around the home, it is both beautiful and practical. It would work just as well alongside a sofa or library chair in the living room to place a drinks glass on top of, as it would in the drawing room with a lamp perched atop, or even in the bedroom as a bedside table. As with all our items this table has been attended to in our worksops by our highly trained, skilled, traditional antique furniture...
