About the Item

Inspired by the work of Dutch designer Jan Harvink, this 'Zig Zag' console table features a black enameled tubular metal frame in the brand's signature angular Z-profile. The asymmetric base forms a geometric zigzag silhouette — front and rear supports angle in opposing directions beneath a flat rectangular top rail. Clear glass sits inset within the frame, keeping the composition open and linear. The narrow, long proportions suit the design's graphic, almost architectural quality. Harvink founded his eponymous Dutch furniture company in the early 1980s, gaining recognition for boldly geometric metal and glass furniture that aligned with the decade's broader postmodern and Memphis-influenced design currents. The Zig Zag series, produced in multiple scales, became among the studio's most recognized designs. This console-height version pairs with a larger matching coffee table also available in our inventory. The table shows wear consistent with age and use, including enamel loss to the frame and visible scratches to the glass surface. Sold individually.
