About the Item

This is a stunning example of a 18th Century hand-carved console table. It is Venetian Italian console table. It is decorated with carved nymphs on the elbows of all four legs. The carvings are decorated with foliate and neo-classical motifs. The top is hand painted and sliver leaf gilt faux marble finish. The legs are stretchers are all covered in the original silver gilt finish. This is a handsome example of a period console table with all the desired attributes of a table of this period. It This is a rare example of a silver gilt table in good and stable condition. The table itself would be a handsome addition to any interior space and could easily be used as an anchor piece in an entry or hallway.
