About the Item

Jacobean console table hand-crafted in England in the late 1800s using oak. The console is small in size and had been bleached, giving it a very modern look, while also highlighting all the geometrical molding decoration and carving that was made more than 100 years ago. The top is made of two boards with ogee edges nailed to the case, The top shows signs of age and wood shrinkage, which is totally normal or a piece this age and has no structural relevance. The legs are turned in the front and square on the back, whereas the apron is scalloped and features inset chamfered panels on the sides and two inset drawers on the front. The drawer fronts are decorated with beautiful geometrical shapes made with hand-carved molding as it is typical of the style. Overall this is a highly decorative piece that because of its small size it can fit in many spots and can work well with both antiques as well as modern furniture.
