About the Item

An outstanding and unique pair of Italian 19th century Charles X st. walnut, maple wood and ormolu consoles. Each console is raised by fine bun feet below the elegant veneered bottom tier which showcases the beautiful walnut grain and displays a most decorative scalloped shaped front. The front supports display striking and most unusual scrolled designs with large richly carved acanthus leaves and recessed panels with beautiful hammered designs. The back supports sit flush to the wall and also display lovely foliate shapes and fine hammered designs. The straight aprons are centered by one drawer with an ormolu keyhole escutcheon. The rectangular tops display striking central foliate inlaid maple wood reserves set on most attractive butterfly veneered walnut backgrounds and framed within delicate wrap around maple wood fillets.
