About the Item

Marajoara desk with drawer is a study upon Mid Century Modern utilitarian furniture, with Brazilian Native Arte Reference. The modern design style is one of the most influential movements in contemporary Brazilian design. Among the main names of modernist designers are Lina Bo Bardi, Vilanova Artigas, Oscar Niemeyer, and a few others; giving a legacy maintained by contemporary architects like Isay Weinfeld or Marcio Kogan, to name a few. In tribute to Lina Bo Bardi's design, this furniture piece has a mixed aesthetic of modernism with a touch of Brazilian Native Culture. It has the quality of modernism, like the efficiency of the form and simplicity; married with unique details inspired by Brazilian Native Marajoara Graphism, and marks of a handcrafted object. The legs line featured seals the movement and generates the aesthetic of the furniture, while raw natural materials give sensitive quality and a range of color tones. Copper structure and details are naturally patined, using an organic mixture and a handmade process that creates a rich a unique pattern.
