About the Item

Made in Sweden in the twentieth century, this black Rococo-style writing desk has a tabletop framed on three sides and a subtly curved front edge. The Rococo style is seen in the shaped, curved lines of the piece, while the black finish gives it a strong, uniform surface. The framed tabletop provides a defined writing area, and the curved front edge softens the form. As a writing desk, the piece provides a working surface and, typically, drawer storage, suited to a study, sitting room, or bedroom. The black finish and Rococo lines give it decorative character.
