Chained Up Miami Dining Table by Barberini & Gunnell Limited Edition of 6 Dimensions: D 120 x W 320 x H 76 cm. Materials: Calacatta marble, mirror polished stainless steel. The inspiration for this table came from observing the gigantic iron chains that are used for tying up enormous container ships or transatlantic cruisers. Spending hours at the port of Ancona we were intrigued by finding a way to build a table structure in the shape of a chain, every bangle connected to the other. Closing the chain, yet achieving a stable structure while at the same time not losing the esthetic beauty of the finished artwork was the challenge this table had up for us. The sculptural dining table ‘Chained Up Miami’ was presented by the Ammann Gallery during ArtBasel Design/Miami 2016. Limited Edition, signed and numbered by the artists, comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Barberini & Gunnell, founded in 2009 in Ancona, Italy by architects Francesco Barberini and Nina A. Gunnell, is the result of a philosophy, thinking of design and architecture as a work of art. The architectural and interior design activity carried out by ‘The Studio’ complements the creations of ‘The Atelier’, which are the result of an artistic playground and highly skilled craftsmanship, a place where artworks and sculptures come to life. The Studio Barberini & Gunnell designs high-end residential and retail spaces that are out of the ordinary and beyond fashion. Barberini & Gunnell creates refined, timeless, and harmonious environments by inserting collectible design, “talking pieces” that create unique and bespoke homes according to the client’s eclectic and aesthetic desires. The Atelier Barberini & Gunnell creates artworks and collectible designs, one-off pieces, and limited editions for a small niche of high-end projects; bespoke solutions for luxury and ultra-luxury projects all over the world. The choice of the most precious materials, the maniacal cure for detail is the basis of our modus operandi aiming to create timeless pieces, using marine grade stainless steel, brass, cast bronze, precious wood essences, marbles, onyxes, semi-precious gemstones, crystal glass, together with the most sophisticated technologies and quality craftsmanship.
