About the Item

A very well crafted stunning black lacquer style dining table with plateglass top inserts stepped column legs having brass capped feet. This large table with the leaf installed will seat 12-16 guests depending on what chairs are used and measures 156" long and without the 18" leaf at 120" long making it a wonderful table for entertaining. By the American furniture designer Phyllis Morris who was considered the Designer to the Stars based in Los Angeles California, her career and founding of her company Phyllis Morris Original in 1953 lasted over four decades. Known for her use of the top craftsman, exotic materials and finishes and bold pieces making each room a design statement. With her exclusive showroom on Beverly Boulevard, she entertained her clients like Gladys Knight, Keith Moon, Allen Carr with projects that hosted Jackie and Aristotle Onassis, Frank Sinatra, John Travolta, Olivia Newton- John and Elvis. This dining table is a superb quality example of the best of the best in high end manufacturing and design from the period, retains the embossed signature of Phyllis Morris to one lower table leg.
