Our refined handcrafted nightstands (or end tables) with integrated storage drawers, meticulously constructed from the very finest solid English ash. Architectural in form and quietly imposing in presence, these pieces embody a disciplined minimalism that places material, proportion and craftsmanship at the centre of the design. The overall silhouette is intentionally clean and restrained, allowing the precision of the construction and the natural character of the timber to speak for themselves. A feature of the design is the exposed mitred key dovetail jointing – a skilled cabinet making detail that openly celebrates the handmade nature of the piece. Rather than concealing the construction, the joinery becomes a central visual element, quietly showing both structural integrity and craftsmanship. The front framework is further refined with an angular chamfered edge that runs precisely around the perimeter, softening the bold geometry while catching the light to accentuate the architectural lines. Each drawer is entirely handcrafted using traditional hand-cut dovetail construction in fine quarter-sawn oak, ensuring exceptional durability and longevity. The drawer interiors and structural components are created with the same attention to detail, reflecting a commitment to true craftsmanship throughout. Only selected English ash is used in the construction of this design. Chosen for its remarkable stability, strength and grain structure. English ash possesses an elegance that becomes increasingly rich with age. Traditional cabinet making displays the unmistakable tactile quality of hand-built furniture. Slight nuances and individual characteristics are embraced as part of the authenticity of the work. Custom dimensions and bespoke adaptations are available upon request. This is also available in solid English oak and American black walnut, each offering its own distinct tonal qualities and presence.
