About the Item

Sourced from the Périgord region of southwestern France, this mid-19th century French Provincial harvest table is crafted in solid walnut and features a long rectangular plank top with richly aged patina and beautiful tonal variation throughout. The table retains its authentic rustic character with visible hand-worked construction details, exposed pegged joinery, and naturally worn surfaces developed through generations of use. The elongated form stands on turned legs joined by an H-form stretcher base with a central crossing support, giving the table both strong architectural presence and excellent stability. The turned legs display subtle Louis Philippe influence, lending a slightly more refined silhouette to the otherwise rustic provincial form. Two shallow end drawers are integrated beneath the top, adding functional storage while maintaining the clean farmhouse profile. Rounded corners, softened edges, scattered old marks, shrinkage separations, and authentic surface irregularities further enhance the warmth and character of the piece.
