About the Item

Originally used in a French fabric store to lay out and cut fabric at the turn of the twentieth century, this oak silk trader's table rests on turned legs which support its lower shelf. A single drawer fits into the apron on one side and is appointed with a brass drawer pull. This draper's table, with its lower shelf for storage or display, is finished on all sides making it ideal as a kitchen island. c. 1900.
