About the Item

Offering an exceptional French tabletop buffet server of gilded cast iron, clad in hammered copper with a white marble top, France, 1800s. This is a rare piece found in grand homes used for entertaining and serving guests. The server is intended to be placed on a table or countertop against a wall lending another tier optimizing your service area for an elegant presentation. It features a large surface area of a gray veined white marble top above a three-sided, curved copper clad frieze with a central embossed foliate motif and is raised on an ornate, gilded cast iron base with four architectural form legs. It is free standing with the back designed a little differently from the front with more narrow supports and bracket ornamentation. This is a heavy item with marble affixed to the base. A stunning, extravagant work not only excellent for presenting an array of dishes, desserts or offering bar service but also great for creating a beautiful display of plants, flowers or other special items. It may also be used as a unique shelf for stacking plates, bowls, etc. in the kitchen, butler pantry or dining room.
