About the Item

A charming 19th century English cricket table crafted in pine and retaining a warm honey-colored surface developed through age and use. The circular plank top is supported by three elegantly turned and tapered legs, joined beneath the top by a simple triangular apron that gives the table its characteristic sturdy, economical construction. Cricket tables originated as practical pieces of vernacular English furniture, their three-legged construction making them particularly stable on the uneven stone and timber floors of country cottages and rural interiors.
