About the Item

A stone square side table is hand-carved from solid stone with a pierced jali-lattice apron on all four sides — The piece translates Rajasthani architectural jali into a square tabletop form. Works equally as side table, end table, accent table, or pedestal table. The four-sided jali apron is pierced by hand using traditional stone-carving chisels. The geometric precision of the lattice reflects the skill of Udaipur stone workshops. The form integrates naturally into Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, and Contemporary interiors. The jali apron runs across all four sides, making the table appear to float on a screen of geometric shadow. The polished square top reflects the room above while the openwork below casts a grid of light on the floor beneath. The stone's natural veining is visible across both surfaces. Each Jour Jali Square Table is hand-carved from solid Black Rainbow Teakwood stone. The apron on all four sides features the jali openwork technique — geometric lattice piercing rooted in Rajasthani architectural tradition. The tabletop surface is polished smooth. Available in four sizes: 12×12×16 inches (two variants), 12×12×18 inches, and 24×24×24 inches. Available in Agate, Rainbow Teakwood, Green Rainbow Teakwood stone, and Black Rainbow Teakwood stone. Made to order; natural stone patterning will vary. Designed by Paul Mathieu for the Stephanie Odegard Collection. The Jour Jali Square Table carries the discipline of palace jali screens into a compact furniture form. Produced in Rajasthan by workshops specializing in traditional stone carving. Customization is at the heart of what we do. Custom sizes, finishes, and bespoke designs are available upon request. Whether you are working from a sketch, technical drawing, reference image, or an initial concept, our team would be delighted to collaborate with you and help bring your vision to life. Made to order, each piece may show slight variations that are a natural result of handmade production in stone. Every block of Rainbow Teakwood stone or stone is unique, so colour, veining, and surface character will vary from piece to piece. The images shown in this listing may be photographed in different lighting conditions or may include illustrations created to represent the available stone options. We warmly encourage customers to request an individual sample or a complete sample set to experience the colour, tone, and character of each stone firsthand. None of our Rainbow Teakwood stone work is treated with an added finish, which allows the Rainbow Teakwood stone or stone to age naturally over time. If required, pieces can be coated with a suitable protective layer to help preserve their original look. Rainbow Teakwood stone is somewhat like glass in that it is strong and long lasting when handled properly but can chip if mishandled. Pieces must never be rolled, pulled, pushed, or slid across any surface. All stone table tops and surfaces that come into contact with oily liquids or food are subject to permanent staining. Our solid Rainbow Teakwood stone pieces are durable and withstand typical weather conditions including high heat, rain, and freezing. Intricately carved or inlaid Rainbow Teakwood stone may be more vulnerable to extreme temperatures and freeze thaw cycles. Like any natural material, Rainbow Teakwood stone can be affected by acid rain and pollution over time. Natural stones may carry hidden variations that only appear during processing. Rainbow Teakwood stone can have unexpected veining, sandstone may contain cavities, and even uniform slabs can have varying porosity that affects polish. While we select our materials carefully, a flawless stone cannot be guaranteed, and this natural variation is part of the character of every piece.
