Attributed to the renowned Turin-based manufacturer Cristal Art, this refined illuminated occasional table embodies the company's celebrated mastery of glass, brass, and sophisticated mid-century Italian design. Active primarily from the 1950s through the 1970s, Cristal Art earned an international reputation for producing luxurious furnishings and lighting distinguished by exceptional craftsmanship, architectural forms, and the elegant interplay of polished metal and crystal or glass. Executed in naturally patinated brass with a circular floating glass top, the table is composed of three cylindrical vertical supports joined by a lower brass ring surrounding an illuminated central drum. This balanced geometric composition creates a visual lightness while expressing the precision and restraint characteristic of Italian modernism. When illuminated, the concealed interior bulb casts a warm ambient glow upward through the glass surface, transforming the piece into both a functional side table and an atmospheric light sculpture.
