Early 20th Century French Olive Wood Rustic Tripod Stool / Side Table A striking and highly decorative early 20th-century French rustic tripod stool, handcrafted from solid olive wood. Featuring a thick, organically shaped slab top with its natural live edge intact, the piece beautifully showcases the dramatic grain, knots, and rich patina characteristic of aged olive wood. The three splayed branch legs are hand-shaped and retain their natural irregularity, giving the stool an authentic provincial character and sculptural presence. Exceptionally heavy for its size, the dense olive wood construction speaks to both the quality of the material and the craftsmanship involved in its making. With its raw organic form, natural imperfections, and emphasis on materiality, the piece resonates strongly with both the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic and Brutalist design principles.
