About the Item

A charming early 20th century mahogany occasional table of elegant proportions, standing upon a finely carved tripod base. The octagonal gallery top is beautifully formed with pierced fretwork decoration, giving the piece a refined and highly decorative appearance whilst also providing a practical enclosed surface. The richly figured mahogany has developed a lovely deep colour and warm patina throughout. Raised on a turned and fluted pedestal support with a carved knop to the centre, the table terminates in a graceful tripod base with shaped cabriole legs, each decorated with carved leaf detail and scroll feet. The quality of the carving and elegant silhouette make this a particularly attractive example. Dimensions Height: 23 inches – 58cm Width: 14 inches – 36cm Depth: 14 inches – 36cm
