Colorful faux Books as low tables . Provenance : Sir Rex Harrison , New York. Sculpted and polychrome painted ,gilt decorated . The finish extremely hard and durable (possibly fired ).Some light wear, dirt , grime. Some fasteners form head under the paint . Very minor .Wear and losses to the painted simulated pages and ledger book covers edges as shown . Sturdy and stable .minor chips etc Christie’s New York sale 8623 December 2001, Lot 389 An nearly identical pair sold at Christie’s Paris ,sale 5043 , lot 349 for € 3524 or $4931 dollars in 2003 .see last photo of series , 14 of 15 and in French .
