About the Item

Stunning early 19th century style side table in figured rosewood. The top with rounded corners and inlaid with boxwood is supported by a simple rosewood veneered frieze with a drawer, a later addition. The magnificent base is composed of two carved lyres with spiral details, petaled anthemion, and brass rod strings. The lyre ends in two splaying molded supports with brass paw castors. The base is joined by an articulated stretcher with repeated spiral and rosette motifs.
