About the Item

A Green Marble side table is crafted from Green Marble and decorated with palm tree motifs executed in Pietra Dura stone inlay. The piece presents botanical palm imagery distributed across the entire tabletop and body. Works equally as side table, accent table, drink table, or end table. Agate, Mother of Pearl, Tiger Eye, and semiprecious stones create variation in color and texture. The result combines decorative naturalism with functional furniture. The form integrates naturally into Art Deco, Hollywood Regency, and Contemporary interiors. The table is produced using the Pietra Dura technique, in which each component of every palm motif is individually cut from semiprecious stone before being fitted into precisely routed recesses in the marble ground. Agate, Mother of Pearl, Tiger Eye, and other stones are shaped, assembled, and set by hand to create the botanical composition. Once installed, the entire surface is polished flush so the inlay and marble read as a single plane. Measuring 18"dia×18"H, the piece functions as a side table, accent table, drink table, end table, decorative pedestal, or sculptural furniture piece. Made entirely to order. Designed by Stephanie Odegard for the Ornamenti Collection. The Palms Table belongs to the Ornamenti collection, exploring botanical imagery through Pietra Dura stone inlay. Drawing upon Rajasthan's long tradition of stone craftsmanship while applying a contemporary design language, the collection combines semiprecious stone inlay with functional furniture forms. Made to order, each piece may show slight variations that are a natural result of handmade production in stone. Every block of marble or stone is unique, so colour, veining, and surface character will vary from piece to piece. The images shown in this listing may be photographed in different lighting conditions or may include illustrations created to represent the available stone options. We warmly encourage customers to request an individual sample or a complete sample set to experience the colour, tone, and character of each stone firsthand. None of our marble work is treated with an added finish, which allows the marble or stone to age naturally over time. If required, pieces can be coated with a suitable protective layer to help preserve their original look. Marble is somewhat like glass in that it is strong and long lasting when handled properly but can chip if mishandled. Pieces must never be rolled, pulled, pushed, or slid across any surface. All stone table tops and surfaces that come into contact with oily liquids or food are subject to permanent staining. Our solid marble pieces are durable and withstand typical weather conditions including high heat, rain, and freezing. Intricately carved or inlaid marble may be more vulnerable to extreme temperatures and freeze thaw cycles. Like any natural material, marble can be affected by acid rain and pollution over time. Natural stones may carry hidden variations that only appear during processing. Marble can have unexpected veining, sandstone may contain cavities, and even uniform slabs can have varying porosity that affects polish. While we select our materials carefully, a flawless stone cannot be guaranteed, and this natural variation is part of the character of every piece.
