About the Item

Side table hand-crafted in Spain in the early 1700s using chestnut. The table has gorgeous character, patina and proportions and would look fantastic as a coffee table in front of a large leather sofa in a cozy living room. The table a single board thick top dovetailed into the base. Under the top we find two large drawers with large, hand-made dovetail joints and carved drawer fronts. The trestle base of the table is made with thick square boards that are mortised using dove tail joints. Overall this is a truly beautiful antique that packs history and character in a very small floorspace. Its warm, yet light, color allows it to fit well with both modern lighter pieces as well as waxed, darker antiques. The overall lines of the table will look great in a farm house or rustic setting, but it can also fit well in a more modern or formal setting that needs that one homey piece that warms a room up.
