About the Item

A charming antique English oak reading and breakfast table, finely constructed from solid oak and designed with practical folding legs for use in bed, on a sofa or as a portable serving table. The rectangular top displays an attractive warm, rich oak grain and patina, complemented by raised gallery sides to three edges. Each side incorporates a shaped grip handle, allowing the table to be carried and repositioned with ease. A particularly attractive feature is the gently curved front edge, designed to sit comfortably around the user when reading, writing or taking breakfast in bed. The table stands on four squared fold-out legs, which fold neatly beneath the top when not in use, reducing the overall height to just 8.5 cm for convenient storage. Both decorative and highly practical, this versatile piece could be used as a breakfast-in-bed table, reading stand, laptop table, serving tray or occasional table. The warm colour and natural figuring of the oak give the piece considerable character, making it equally suitable for a traditional bedroom, country-house interior or more contemporary setting.
