This work centers on combining various materials to observe and document their potential through color, texture, finish, and detail. Alongside material exploration, two-dimensional studies were carried out, allowing figurative and painterly elements to emerge naturally. It was a quiet process of seeking form and expanding expression. Jang Hea-Kyoung is a Seoul-based artist and designer whose practice explores the intersection of craft and contemporary design. She is the founder of (From Craft to Industry), a creative platform dedicated to reinterpreting traditional techniques and materials through a modern lens. With a background rooted in fine craftsmanship and an experimental approach to materiality, Jang develops objects and furniture that challenge the boundaries between art, design, and utility. Her collections—including the Fragment, Relic, Loess, Souvenir, and Nacre series—reflect her ongoing investigation into cultural memory, tactile expression, and the dialogue between permanence and transformation.
