A charming antique Brazilian butterfly wing tray depicting the iconic Christ the Redeemer monument overlooking Rio de Janeiro. Handcrafted during the early 20th century, this decorative tray showcases the remarkable butterfly wing art tradition for which Brazil became renowned, utilizing iridescent natural wings to create vivid landscapes and luminous color effects beneath glass. The central image features Christ the Redeemer atop Corcovado Mountain, flanked by tropical scenes with palm trees, water views, and mountainous landscapes. The tray is framed in solid wood with geometric inlaid decoration and integrated handles, demonstrating the quality craftsmanship of the period. Equally suited for display or occasional use, this piece offers a wonderful blend of folk art, travel history, and natural beauty.
