About the Item

Pair Of Samuel Howitt Shooting Watercolours. A finely detailed pair of framed hunting scenes by acclaimed British artist Samuel Howitt, known for his dynamic and lively depictions of field sports and rural life. Executed in watercolour and pencil, these companion works capture the excitement and movement of the shoot, with sportsmen and dogs engaged in pursuit of game across open countryside. Howitt's expressive line work and subtle use of colour lend energy and immediacy to the scenes, while his careful attention to anatomical accuracy and naturalistic detail reflect his deep familiarity with sporting subjects. Both works are signed, and together they offer a classic and atmospheric portrayal of early 19th-century British country sport.
