We adore this rare original 1956 British double crown poster for Bus Stop featuring a vibrant and glamorous portrait of Marilyn Monroe rendered with exceptional flair, capturing all the allure and star power associated with the film’s celebrated lead. Arguably the best deisng for the title. Designed by acclaimed British illustrator Tom Chantrell (1916–2001), one of the most prolific and influential poster artists of the 20th century. Known for his dramatic compositions, bold colour work and enviable ability to distil a film’s energy into a single unforgettable image, Chantrell created thousands of posters across several decades. His work became synonymous with British cinema advertising, and his pieces — notable for their dynamism and meticulous craftsmanship — are now highly prized by collectors worldwide. Hans Schleger 'Zero' (1898-1976) London Transport Bus Stop Poster Original Vintage Lithographic poster Printed for London Transport Working with Edward Johnson's special typeface created for London Transport, Hans Schleger - or Zero as he signed himself - adopted the famous roundel used by London Underground for use at Bus Stops. Born in Germany, Schleger was an influential graphic designer. After serving during the First World War, he studied at the Berlin Kunstgewerbeschule, being taught by Emil Orlik. The same year Walter Gropius founded the Bauhaus at Weimar and Schleger learned the same principles of breaking down the barriers between architecture, design, fine art and craft. A firm believer in the Bauhaus principles of simplicity in design and reduction to essentials, these may be seen in the clean lines of the roundel.
