Antique print titled 'Sestos in Europa'. Original antique print showing a view of Sestos, Turkey with ships. This print originates from 'Naukeurige Beschryving der Eilanden in de Archipel der Middelantsche Zee' by Olfert Dapper, published in Amsterdam by Wolfgangh, Waesbergen, and Boom. Someren en Goethals circa 1680. Artists and Engravers: Olfert Dapper (c. 1635 - 1689) was a Dutch physician and writer. He wrote books about history and geography, although he never travelled outside Holland. Until today, his book Description of Africa (1668) is a key text for Africanists. Condition: Good, given age. Small brown spot top right. Original folds as issued. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study image carefully. Date: c.1680 Overall Size: 39 x 31 cm.
