A striking and exceptionally large French Art Nouveau wall shelf, dating to around 1900, beautifully hand-carved from walnut. Measuring an impressive 143 cm (56.3 inches) in width, this is a substantial decorative piece that combines practical storage with outstanding craftsmanship. The design is richly adorned with flowing, organic Ginkgo leaves, one of the most iconic motifs of the Art Nouveau movement. Every element has been meticulously carved by hand, showcasing the naturalistic forms and elegant curves that define the period. The warm walnut patina further enhances the depth and detail of the carving, making this shelf a true statement piece.
