About the Item

Originally a working tool, this late 19th-century garden rake has been reimagined as a sculptural wall piece. The handle, formed from an espaliered branch, rises cleanly before naturally forking at the top to support a hand-carved head with individually shaped tines—simple, direct, and full of character. What sets it apart is the combination of natural growth and human intervention. The wood retains its organic form, while the carved elements reflect the hand that made it, resulting in a piece that feels both functional and thoughtfully composed. Time has given the surface a warm, worn patina, adding depth without distracting from its straightforward construction. Now mounted on a custom wall bracket, it transitions easily from tool to display. Hung in a home, office, or restaurant, it brings a sense of texture and authenticity—an object rooted in utility, but perfectly suited to a more considered interior.
