Italian Brutalist Geometric Metal Wall Sculpture, 1970s A striking Italian Brutalist geometric wall sculpture executed in welded metal, circa 1970s. The composition is formed by an architectural rectangular framework supporting a rhythmic arrangement of layered circular metal discs in varying diameters and finishes, creating a strong sense of movement, depth, and spatial balance. The piece combines oxidized silver-tone, gunmetal black, copper, and brass-toned surfaces, producing a refined industrial palette characteristic of late modernist Italian decorative arts. The discs are mounted at different levels across the linear grid structure, generating subtle shadow play and a sculptural relief effect when installed on the wall. Its aesthetic sits between Brutalist wall art and Space Age modernism, recalling the highly decorative architectural metalwork that became popular in sophisticated European interiors during the late 1960s through the early 1980s. The work remains intentionally anonymous in the manner of many high-quality artisan workshop productions of the period. Executed in welded steel with patinated finishes. Italy, circa 1975–1985.
