About the Item

Exceptional ceramic tile wall plaque / sculpture with various geometric pattern and multi-color, crystalline crackle glaze tiles. Tiles mounted to original wood back. Identified on verso with artists business card, circa 1960s. Jane McAllister Dart received a certificate in industrial design from Pratt Institute, NY, in 1935, followed by a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts from Ohio State University. She taught in the Art Department at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI for 36 years, and became Professor Emeritus in 1978. Source: Treadway Toomey auctions.
