About the Item

Every generation eventually rediscovers the same decorating secret: a room should never take itself too seriously. Sister Parish believed in it. Dorothy Draper practically insisted on it. Bunny Mellon perfected it. They understood that decorating isn't about filling a room. It's about giving the eye somewhere wonderful to land. These delightful painted tole wall sculptures do exactly that. Classical blue and white urns overflow with an exuberant bouquet of flowers in soft greens, buttery yellows, powder blues, and gentle lavender, while a curious peacock peeks from one side and a cheerful songbird balances the other. At the center, a sculptural painted leaf projects proudly from the composition, creating just enough depth to catch the light and remind you these are objects, not pictures. They possess the cheerful confidence that make a room feel so effortless, formal enough to satisfy a traditionalist, yet playful enough to keep a room from taking itself too seriously. Hang them flanking a mirror, anchoring an entry console, or wherever a wall feels a little too serious. Good decorating has never been about filling a room. It's about giving the eye somewhere delightful to land.
