Founded in Paris in 2006 by Swedish designer and artist Johanna Dauphin, J Dauphin is an independent jewellery and accessories brand. Each piece is made by hand using old school artisanal methods. Johanna grew up between Sweden and France, studied fashion design in Rome and spent her early career in Italy working for TOD'S and FENDI. Her work carries the trace of every place she has lived, the Swedish eye for the essential, the French and Italian savoir faire, the rock and roll of Los Angeles. Johanna works across materials, leather, chains, metalwork, precious gemstones, hand-painted enamel, exclusive recycled materials sourced in Italy and France, vintage military and workwear. New creations alongside vintage, antique medals, vintage chains and reclaimed materials. J Dauphin creates handmade esoteric fine jewellery and spiritual talisman jewellery rooted in Victorian occultism, Hermetic philosophy, and spiritual symbolism. The collections span Victorian Revival celestial and star jewellery, healing gemstone jewellery, hand-painted enamel work, hearts, protective symbols and devotional iconography, the Virgin Mary, the Star of David, celestial talismans, memento mori. Keith Richards, Def Leppard, Courtney Cox, Christina Applegate, Uma Thurman, Chloë Sevigny, and Brandi Carlile have all worn J Dauphin jewellery.
