About the Item

A stunning and highly stylish French cuff, with matching belt (the buckle is made also from carved Galalith, with the same design as the cuff), a wonderfully smart combination not really seen these days. The black Galalith pieces (the French equivalent to Bakelite) are carved into foliage and fruits, with a small squirrel (or fox), seeking out the fruit. Both are set into a soft gilded metal (the gilding on the bangle shows more sign of wear, which adds to its quality, the buckle is almost pristine), and one side of the cuff lifts to allow the wearer to place it on their wrist. The bangle worn by itself is such a statement piece, enhanced further if worn with the belt. Both belt and bangle are signed 'Made In France' and with the logo 'BJ' , not easy to decipher. Such strong French style!

Wear consistent with age and use. The 'weight' measurement, above, is for the bangle alone. The weight of the belt is 110 grams. The length of the belt is 31 inches and its width is 1.3 inches. The leather part may be a later addition, but is in very good condition.
