About the Item

Bracelet in 18 karat yellow gold. Magnificent antique cuff bracelet in the form of a rigid oval bezel made of several gold plates, hinged together and decorated with gadroons on the top. The last plate hides the push-button and rack-and-pinion clasp. A safety chain is present. On the top, a large openwork motif is formed of delicately chased interlacing and adorned with an applied fleur-de-lis motif, partially enameled in deep blue, and 2 crescent moon motifs, also partially enameled. The fleur-de-lis is set with a line of antique-cut cushion-cut diamonds and the 2 crescent moons with 2x3 antique-cut cushion-cut diamonds. A further 5 antique-fashioned cushion-cut diamonds are set on the decoration. Total weight of diamonds : 0.82 carat approximately. Height of the pattern : 4 cm approximately, thickness : 18 mm approximately, width of the pattern : 6.5 cm approximately, inner circumference : 16,5 cm approximately. Total weight of the jewel : 28,3 g approximately. Authentic antique jewel - French work of the second half of the XIXth century. Slight lack of enamel and small, inconspicuous marks of age. Our opinion : This magnificent piece of antique Napoleon III jewelry was undoubtedly part of a much larger set featuring the same motifs, but only this antique bracelet has survived.
