About the Item

One of a Kind Spiral Wrap Bracelet handcrafted by jewelry designer and maker Reiko Ishiyama with four wrapped rows of intricately-finished, hand-cut 22k yellow gold and oxidized sterling silver sheets. The magnificent statement cuff is finished with two ornamental oxidized sterling silver locking clasps, allowing for easy wear and removal on practically any wrist size. Signed with artist signature / 22 / ss About the Maker - Reiko Ishiyama was born in Japan, where she observed blacksmiths and artisans practice their trades in her small village. She designs jewelry that is elegant in its simplicity and characterized by its extraordinary, unique finishes. Working in both sterling silver and gold, Reiko often combines or overlays the metals to create looks that are both striking and organically soothing. To observe one of her pieces is to see the form she has released from a sheet of silver or gold, as if the earring, bracelet or necklace was implicit in the metal. “The metals whisper to me”, says Reiko. Her jewelry was sold at Takashimaya in New York City for many years, and she has received numerous awards in the US, Europe, and Japan.
