The studio is dedicated to transforming metal into fluid, sculptural jewelry that feels alive on the body. Each piece is handcrafted using traditional metalsmithing techniques, shaped to reflect both strength and softness, structure and movement. With a philosophy rooted in the beauty of form itself, the work resists trends and instead seeks timeless expression. The collections explore themes of connection, transformation, and individuality—whether through the fluid lines of the Drawing Series, the hand-forged links of Connected Story, or the minimal poetry of the Elemental line. At its core, Oblik Atelier is about creating jewelry that resonates beyond adornment, offering the wearer a piece of art that is as personal as it is enduring. Mia Hebib’s journey with jewelry began long before Oblik Atelier came to life. Born in culturally rich Bosnia and Herzegovina, where metalsmithing was present since the Ottoman era. She grew up in Croatia where she studied at the school for Applied Arts and Design, while she also pursued education in classical music and was part of vocal ensembles. Both music and art guide her curiosity; form that is found in three-dimensional worlds as well as fluidity and movement of sound that are part of the ephemeral and spiritual world. Her move to the U.S. and studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design gave her the tools to turn that fascination into a lifelong craft. What started as curiosity became a language—metal as a medium for storytelling and expressing both strength and vulnerability. Her path has carried her from atelier benches to major fashion houses, where she helped shape collections for brands like Robert Lee Morris, Coach, and AllSaints, Teaching and mentoring at institutions like Pratt Institute and the 92nd Street Y and SCAD, has allowed her to share this perspective, mentoring the next generation of makers while deepening her own practice. For Mia, jewelry isn’t just design—it’s an intimate dialogue between maker, material, and wearer.
