About the Item

This striking hand-stamped sterling silver cuff features a vibrant Morenci turquoise stone, skillfully crafted by Navajo silversmith Jonathon Mike. The bracelet showcases refined geometric and linear stamp work, with angular motifs flanking the central stone. These traditional design elements highlight both the precision of the silversmithing and the natural beauty of the turquoise, creating a piece that feels timeless yet distinctive. • Center stone: 5/8” × 1/2” • Width: 3/4” – 1-1/2” • Gap: 1-1/4” • Inside measurement: 5-7/8” • Total inner circumference: 7-1/8” About the Morenci Turquoise The Morenci Mine, located in southeastern Arizona, once produced some of the most sought-after turquoise in the world. Known for its rich blue hues and striking pyrite matrix, Morenci turquoise is now considered highly collectible, as the mine has been closed and buried beneath tons of rock. Chemical leaching of the land has rendered further mining impossible, leaving only limited quantities of rough stone in the hands of former miners. Small amounts are occasionally released, making authentic Morenci turquoise increasingly rare and prized. About the Artist: Jonathon Mike Born October 18, 1966, Jonathon Mike is an accomplished Navajo silversmith from the Nakai-Mexican clan. Active since 1990, he is known for his meticulous craftsmanship and preference for high-quality turquoise and other fine stones set in sterling silver. Jonathon was among the select group of artists who worked at the legendary White Hogan in Scottsdale, Arizona—a studio renowned for its influence on mid-century Native American jewelry design. His work reflects a deep respect for traditional Navajo techniques, balanced with clean modern lines and exceptional attention to detail.
