About the Item

This bracelet came in to our shop many years ago. It was clearly supposed to be a knockoff of a diamond tank watch from a certain revered French brand that begins with "C," but we just bought it for its gold weight. Once Eytan removed the watch, however, he liked the proportions of the bracelet and decided that, without the actual watchface, it didn't scream, "I'm a fake Cxxxxr" as much as it screamed, "I would make a great bracelet if I had a great stone!" And then it sat in a drawer for ten years. But this year, we were able to our hands on a huge piece of black tourmaline (called "schorl") and Eytan decided it would be just the thing. After setting the stone, removing the crown and filling in the hole on the side of the case, the end result is bold, distinctive and truly one-of-a-kind. The case is an oversized elongated tank design with excellent pavé work on the sides -- 66 diamonds are set in four rows with the prongs so well-formed that they make a nice tight checkerboard pattern. The diamonds are natural (i.e., earth-mined) and full-cut. Eytan rates them H-I color and SI1 clarity or slightly better. We estimate the total diamond weight at 0.33 carats. The black tourmaline is from Tanzania and weighs 37 carats. It has a simple step cut, but Eytan mounted it with the keel (the long bottom facet) facing up! The integral bracelet is a gorgeous five-row brick link, very well made and comfortable, and the deployment clasp is completely invisible when closed. This bracelet will fit wrists up to 7.5" but we suggest a snug fit. Eytan will shorten the bracelet at no charge. Please give us your wrist measurements and we'll figure out how many links to remove for the best fit.
