About the Item

A striking and highly unusual Victorian vermeil brooch centered with the iconic Ace of Spades motif, richly embellished with vibrant rubies and old-cut diamonds. The spade is set against a circular engraved plaque and framed by an ornate openwork wreath, accented throughout with alternating rubies and diamonds, creating a bold yet refined composition characteristic of late 19th-century craftsmanship. During the Victorian era, the Ace of Spades carried far greater significance than a simple playing card.
