Rare, collectible Raymond Yard Cartoon Chickadee with parasol and ruby fruit salad tail. Diamonds in various cuts are used to render this charming Art Deco bird in platinum. Calibre rubies are used to detail the piece. 5/8" x 7/8" high. 1929 USA. From a series of charming animal themed character brooches initiated by Yard in the late 1920's.

Wonderful Art Deco Diamond and Emerald brooch from the 1930's, set in platinum by Ostertag, France. This lovely design is very reminiscent of Coco Chanel's logo who was his neighbor in the period, where he was located at 16 Place Vendome.
