Large Antique Victorian 16.8g Carved Banded Agate Barrel Bar Brooch, Circa 1870 A striking piece of authentic 19th-century history, this large Victorian bar brooch features a continuous, beautifully carved cylinder of natural Scottish banded agate. The deep chocolate-brown stone showcases parallel milky-white bands running through its polished, translucent body. The reverse retains its original mid-Victorian base metal mounts, showcasing a hand-crimped wavy friction pin and an authentic open C-clasp configuration. Honest signs of age only seen to the silver pin itself and brass mount also visible around the hinge mechanism, typical for genuine jewelry of this era. There are no chips on the agate stone it is in impeccable condition.
