About the Item

These gorgeous new earrings by Eytan Brandes feature stylized leaves of the peperomia succulent cast in 18 karat gold. He's used this design for earrings and pendants, but usually in a long cascade of five to eight leaves in graduated sizes. For these latest earrings, Eytan just used two of the little bowl-shaped leaves on each earring. The pearls are something special -- very baroque South Sea pearls, mostly frosty white, but with touches of yellow, an unusual phenomenon, especially on a matched pair. Together, the pearls and pods project the warmth and uncomplicated elegance that comes from natural forms, the best materials, and an artist's eye. BORING STUFF (note that earrings are not symmetrical; also, for comparison purposes, our creepy disembodied ear mannequin is life-sized): Earring Length: 37mm and 38mm (approx. 1-1/2") Width: 11.6 and 12mm (approx. 1/2") Pearl Sizes: 9mm x10mm x15mm & 8mm x10mm x 16mm Pearl Weights: 1.5 grams & 1.54 grams Total Earring Weight (without backs*): 8.8 grams * Because these earrings strike us as frequent wear (as opposed to evening or special occasion) jewelry, we are matching them with 14 karat backs, since 14 karat is more durable than 18 karat, but if you prefer 18 karat backs, just let us know and we'll provide you with adjusted pricing.
