About the Item

This is a stunning Mid-Century Modernist Necklace and Bracelet with a space age sputnik rings of Saturn theme. The magnificent pieces of Art Jewelry were purchased in Iceland. They are most likely Scandinavian, possibly from Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland or Denmark. They are silver tone metal. The pieces have a coiled slinky snake type of chain with a rings of Saturn like pendant medallion adornment. The unique matching necklace and brooch are signed with a V or M shaped mark. The pieces are the personification of Mid-Century Modern Scandinavian design. They are fabulous works of art in their own right. The wonderful three dimensionality of the designs along with the space age reflection of the rings of Saturn create the most magical modernist pieces. Necklace The necklace chain at rest is 18 inches long. It is expandable. The drop portion hangs down 5 inches (13cm). The disc is 2 1/2 inches (63mm) wide. Bracelet The top of the bracelet is 4 inches long. The back of the bracelet is expandable. The disc is 2 1/2 inches wide.
